    卡森城’s 水的供应 & 需求:

水 is essential to all of us and it is important that our community have enough to meet its daily needs, as well as for emergencies, like fighting fires.

On this page, you will find a snapshot of 卡森城’s current water supply and community usage. You will also learn tips on using water wisely, including how to follow the City’s seasonal water restrictions.

水的供应 & 使用

卡森城 utilizes water from three groundwater basins, and surface waters from Ash Canyon and Kings Canyon Creek, Carson River and the Marlette/Hobart system. 卡森城 水 公用事业公司 practices conjunctive use, in which surface water usage is maximized to help reduce the use of wells and to conserve groundwater.

The city’s water usage in winter is 5-6 million gallons per day. During the summer, usage can jump as high as 24 million gallons per day.  This increase is due to outside irrigation.  Below is a snapshot of the city’s supply and usage.

You can help conserve 卡森城’s water supply and save money in the process!  First, follow 卡森城’s Summer 水 Restriction 日程安排:

From June 1 through September 30, residents are asked to follow a watering schedule based on the 最后一位数字 of your home address:

  •  奇怪的地址 water on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays

  •  即使是地址 water on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays

  • No watering on Mondays—this gives our storage tanks a chance to refill.

Second, follow these 10 tips for reducing your water usage:

1.     水 your lawn only when it needs it.

2.     Adjust your sprinklers so that water lands on your lawn or garden where it belongs -
        not on sidewalks or driveways.

3.     Fix leaky faucets and plumbing joints.

4.     Do not run the hose while washing your car.  Instead, use a bucket of water and/or
        a controllable nozzle.

5.     Install water-saving shower heads or flow restrictors.

6.     Run only full loads in the washing machine and dishwasher.

7.     Shorten your showers.

8.     Use a broom instead of a hose to clean driveways and sidewalks.

9.     Don't use your toilet as a wastebasket.

10.  Don’t waste water. For example, while you wait for hot water to come down the pipes, catch the
flow in a watering can to use on house plants or your garden.
